Purpose
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) is intended to define the information collected, stored, and used through the giving and alumni website, “iamatiger.clemson.edu” and “forever.clemson.edu” (the “Website”) managed by the Clemson University Foundation Advancement Services, Information Technology department (the “IT Department”). This policy’s target audience is any person that visits the Website. The following policy must be posted on the Website.
Policy
This Website is managed by the Clemson University Foundation (the “Foundation”) in collaboration with its affiliate organizations including Clemson University, the Clemson Alumni Association, and IPTAY (the “Affiliates”).
This Policy is intended to complement the Clemson University Privacy Policy.
This Policy governs the manner in which the Foundation, and by extension its Affiliates, collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (the “Users”) of https://iamatiger.clemson.edu and https://forever.clemson.edu.
I.Information We Collect About You and How We Collect
A. Personal Information
We collect information you provide through registration, use of features, use of functionality and contacting us. In order to access and use certain content, features and functions of the Website, including alumni registration, giving history, update contact information, and to subscribe to newsletters you must provide certain personal information. The Foundation or the Affiliates may supplement your data through web searches, Software as a Service (SaaS), vendors, or similar search vehicles. The types of information that we collect includes but is not limited to biographical and demographics such as names, email address, physical address, phone number, birthdate, gender, spouse’s name, and employment information. Users may also be asked to provide their interest areas, including alumni groups and student activities while they were at Clemson University. Philanthropic gifts and certain purchases will also be collected and stored.

The Website is not intended for children under thirteen (13) years of age. The Foundation does not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13). If you are under thirteen (13), please do not provide any information on this Website.
We will ask you to create your User ID and password so that only you can access your data. Users may visit the Website anonymously and refuse to supply personally identification information, however that may prevent the User from engaging in certain Website activities.
b. Credit Card Information
We do not store credit card information on our servers. We use merchant services payment gateway providers to facilitate the transfer of information between our donation forms to the acquiring bank. For more details visit Blackbaud Merchant and Payment Services at www.blackbaud.com/bbms.
c. Non-personal identification information
The Foundation may collect non-personal information about Users when Users interact with the Website. Non-personal information may include the browser name, type of computer and technical information about Users’ means of connection to the Website such as the internet service provider.
D. Automatic Information Collection; Tracking Technologies
Cookies
We use cookies. A cookie is a piece of information that a web server may place on your computer when you visit a website. Our cookies will track only your activity on this website and no other internet activity or personally identifiable information.
Google Analytics
Clemson University is using third-party services, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. Both are services provided by Google, Inc. which uses cookies to compile reports on website activity, and then University site owners use that information to improve websites. The Foundation works with Clemson University for some information technology support and therefore may utilize these tools. II. How We Use Information
The Foundation and its Affiliates may use your Personal Information for the following purposes which include but are not limited to:
- Follow up with you after correspondence (email and phone) and responding to your questions or other requests;
- Communicate philanthropic initiatives;
- Communicate to acknowledge financial transaction (gift thank you letter, receipts);
- Marketing and promoting the Clemson University Alumni Association upcoming events, including promotions and other initiatives and activities;
- Saving your User Account, registration and profile data or other Personal Information to save you time (so you are not required to re-enter it each time you use and/or access the Services);
- If fraud or infringement of our or any third party’s rights, we may use your information to communicate with you;
- Tracking your return visits and use of the website;
- Contacting you regarding the administration and improvement of any features or functions of the website;
- To comply with legal obligations or legal process;
- Provide you with University updates;
- Publish your information on the Alumni Directory or Honor Roll (list of active donors);
- We may match you with philanthropic initiatives based on your interest, previous giving, and previous engagement with Clemson University;
- For any other purposes described in this Privacy Policy or disclosed at the time you provide us with the Personal Information, or which are reasonably necessary to provide the service or other related information, and/or service requested.
In addition to your personal information, we may use your other information about you for the following purposes:
- For research purposes, marketing/promotional purposes and/or to provide anonymous reporting for internal Clemson University, business partners, vendors, third party organizations, etc.;
- Accumulating and reporting collective, statistical information regarding the user activity;
- Determining which features, functionality and portions of the Website users prefer to help us operate the services, enhance and improve the services.
- For other purposes disclosed at the time you provide us with the additional information, or which are reasonably necessary to provide the service requested.
III.Security of Personal Information
We restrict access to personal information collected about you from the Website to our employees, those who are otherwise specified in this Policy, or others who are authorized to the information to provide services to you or in the course of conducting our business operations or activities. We maintain standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information collected via the Website. The Website is hosted by Blackbaud. Databases are protected with various physical, technical and procedural measures. We restrict access to your information by unauthorized persons. Employees are informed and trained about their responsibility to protect constituent’s data and we provide them with appropriate guidelines for adhering to our business ethics standards and confidentiality policies.
IV.Express Consent and Agreement
Voluntarily providing your information, whether as a registered user or otherwise, you affirmatively acknowledge, understand and hereby agree that you are giving us your consent to collect information and track your activities and your use of the website features as described in this policy.
For EU residents to continue communication from us, you must have provided consent to contact here and hereby agree to this policy.
V.Preferences and Privacy Settings
You have the following options available should you choose to limit the use of or access to your information. You may request changes by sending an email with details to Alumni Records at alumni_records-l@clemson.edu.
- Do Not Call: This will remove your name and contact information from lists used for calling campaigns by Clemson University, the Clemson University Foundation and the Clemson Alumni Association.
- Do Not Email: This will remove your name and contact information from all contact lists used by Clemson University, the Clemson University Foundation and the Clemson Alumni Association.
- Do Not Mail: This will remove your name and contact information from all contact lists used by Clemson University, the Clemson University Foundation and the Clemson Alumni Association.
- Do Not Solicit: This will remove your name and contact information from lists used specifically for philanthropic donation.
- Do Not Market: This will remove your name and contact information from lists shared with authorized partners who work closely with the Clemson University Foundation and the Clemson Alumni Association to offer benefits and services to Clemson University graduates and friends.
- Do Not Contact: This means we will not contact you in any form mentioned above.
VI.Policy for the Release of Alumni Information
Legitimate and lawful information requests by employees or alumni will be routed to the Alumni Association for review and approval. To learn more about the release of alumni information and mass communication policy click here.
VII.Transfer of Information
The Clemson University Foundation is headquartered in the United States of America. Any personal information you provide may be stored and maintained in a secure database in the United States. If you are a resident of a country other than the United States and provide us with your information, you consent to the transfer of your data into the United States.
VIII.Changes to this Policy
The Foundation may update this Policy at any time and from time to time and we will post any changes to this page. The most recent version of the Policy is reflected by the version date located at the bottom of this Policy.
